- DVD Title: Slight Fever Syndrome
- Studio: Kitty
- Director: Fuyuzo Sirakawa
- Pros: Very nice, light hentai that doesn't take much time too watch.
- Cons: Poor DVD print, very short sex scenes, and penises in the first episode that don't really look like penises.
- Bottom Line: It's a good primer for hentai, but by far not the best I've seen.

"'Sex' is as important as eating or drinking and we ought to allow the one appetite to be satisfied with as little restraint or false modesty as the other. " - Marquis de Sade Much like with everything else in my life, my tastes in adult entertainment are of the more off-beat variety: hentai, comedy, and thriller - or just anything with an extreme psychological edge to it.

Slight Fever Syndrome
To kick off my adult reviews, I’d like to take a trip down memory lane to one of the first hentai videos I ever viewed. Back when I was a little more, err, ‘vanilla’.
The title was called Slight Fever Syndrome (two episodes overall), and I was nuts for it. Something about the innocent eroticism of it really appealed to me.
Slight Fever Syndrome is about a busty school health counselor, Mizuki Yuzuriha,
who is fresh out of college, and ready to help her students. She
immediately gets a bit of a hard-on for the school's sports star, as
well as her male co-worker. But as she starts to get to know her
students, she finds herself woefully unprepared for their
indiscriminate sexual attitudes, and soon becomes the go-to for 'sex
therapy' for each one of them. Said sex therapy includes things like a
masturbation tutorial, and breast massage. She also becomes the target
of her female co-worker's sexual advances. What a job!
This hentai is a bit dated now (circa. 1997) and the animation is very simple (in the first episode, all the penises look like large, unshapen sausages), but the campy charm is timeless. It's based on Rumi Miyamoto's erotic manga Binetsu Shoukougun and it includes a lot of cute, symbolic imagery like Mizuki's coffee toppling over every time she has an orgasm. The plot is pretty bare bones, and the characters are very
two-dimensional, but this hentai manages to be amusing and erotic,
without taking itself too seriously. As a newbie to hentai,
I found it just titillating enough for my tastes at the time, even
though it only barely holds up to my current viewing standards. It's
not quite soft-core, but the sexual scenes are so short as to almost be
a tease. I put it down to the fact that the Director was trying to
include as much variety as possible in a single 30-minute episode
span. Still, the busty main character is sexy!
I can't remember how much I paid for the DVD, but it's a poor print- the audio is out of sync in the Japanese language version. I originally watched the first episode on VHS, so I'm aware that it had to have been the transfer that was the problem. Since the English voice-acting (like with many cheap distributions) is about as appealing as nails on a chalkboard, I wasn't happy about that. Call it 'yellow fever' if you will, but I prefer the Japanese moaning to the English.
All things considered, this is a good video to prime someone for the vast medium of Japanese Hentai, if you think that some of the harsher productions (like any of the Overfiend movies) might scare them away. That being said, I wouldn't recommend paying too much to get your hands on the DVD.
