Just Over Eighteen 18 Sometimes I am surprised at the sexually juvenile feel of certain adult films. What I expected from Red Light District’s, Just Over 18 #18, I am not sure, but what I got was a festival of pornographic caricature, which seems geared to a mindless frat mentality. On the bright side if you want a flick with some hot women, and you do not mind being treated as a horny teenage boy, then Just Over 18 #18 is for you.
Jaelyn Fox, John Strong and Mr. Pete star in the somewhat laughable first story in Just Over 18 #18. Directed by Mr. Pete the story’s feel is encapsulated in the introduction where we see a guy calling a friend from his car to ask if he can borrow his bed. He needs this bed because he just grabbed a girl from a strip club and needs a place to fuck her. I was tempted to turn my computer off at that moment, but dedicated reviewer that I am, I toughed it out.
We first see Jaelyn when her “captor” arrives at his buddies house, pops the trunk and reveals a schoolgirl uniform clad blond with duct tape around her wrists. With the introduction of this quasi S&M, power struggle that this scenario implies I expected the actress to have a certain sexual bravado, or at least to have a strong personality. The actress needed to not only seem happy to be bound, but that perhaps this was her idea. Jaelyn was unable to pull this off. All of her lines were given with a kind of dead behind the eyes stare that made it impossible to believe she did indeed love where she was and what was happening.
Most of the action takes place in a large open plan LA house, with intro valley chic décor. The surroundings serve the plot of two “swinging guys” bringing a girl back to their awesome “pad”. The benefit of the setting is there is nice natural light, and the background served as a distraction when I become mind numbingly bored with the film.
The majority of the sex in the film carries the same “dude” attitude in that the woman seems to be playing to a fantasy, or stereotype. I did not believe the fucking was being done by grow ups but by inexperienced new comers who have something to prove. Spanking plays a large role in this film’s pleasure principle. I suppose it harkens back to he naughty schoolgirl chord struck by Jaelyn’s outfit, but I found the amount of spanking should have been more judiciously used. There were so many ass slaps that at times Jaelyn’s otherwise lovely backside was bright red and still bore a hand print
The camera angles and female direction all do a decent job of allowing the viewer to feel like they are a part of the action. This would have been more successful if Jaelyn had been a better actress. As previously stated she does not carry much weight, sexually or personally, so I did not believe she wanted, needed or loved being fucked. The ass, breast and clit smacking combined with the crotch spitting made this an unfavorable experience for me. However, I do not think my dislike of the film was just because it was aimed at men. Even in the most male orientated adult film I will want to watch and pay attention if the woman involved seems truly sexually enthralled. The men in this film are decent to look at, and neither totally hot or aesthetically offensive. For most of the film it is easy to imagine them as strap ons. Which does not speak much to the films gender balance, but speaks volumes as to who is the film’s audience.
Paige Love and Mr. Pete’s portion of Just Over Eighteen carries the same barely legal, Madonna/Whore theme seen in Jaelyn Fox’s portion. The difference lies in Paige herself. She owns her sexuality, and inhabits the erotica very well. Most of the action takes place in a typical and forgettable living room complete with leather clad sectional and lamp still swathed in plastic. The action opens on Paige seated coquettishly on the floor, clad in a plaid ultra mini, almost nipple covering undershirt, and black knee-highs. Unlike the costume appearance of Jaelyn’s outfit, Paige’s looks like something she actually owns and would wear. The outfit helps establish Paige as the devilish girl the film needs her to be. As she sits on the floor, playing with her tinker toys her aunt’s voice chimes in that she and the uncle are going out and have hired a sitter to keep Paige out of trouble. The camera angle serves as the aunt’s point of view, so when Paige protests and devilishly sneers at her aunt she is engaging with the audience effectively.
Eventually the babysitter is introduced and has a brief chat with the aunt where she recounts Paige’s reputation and trouble making ways. The babysitter is not bad eye candy and carries an ex high school jock appearance. The sitter meets the aunt’s tales with a look of shock and surprise. The plot purpose of making the sitter a bit of an innocent is obvious, but it seemed a bit heavy handed. After the aunt’s departure Paige quickly sets to work winding the sitter around her finger. While watching TV the two engage in chit chat and Paige begins her seduction. We have the pleasure of watching Paige slink her body around on the sofa, caressing

The sitter’s refusals would have been more convincing if he was not always staring at her titties Eventually, seeking a break fro the temptation the sitter goes into the kitchen twice and downs a glass of liquid strength, which I assume was vodka. But with Paige waiting on the couch wearing increasingly little, he never really stands a chance.
After succumbing to his alcoholic indulgence the sitter passes out leaving Paige in a gleeful state of mischievous control. Paige begins enjoying the sitter’s unconscious state by undoing him and giving him a little oral. My only problem with this scenario is that when at long last the sitter realizes he is being sucked off he groggily asks Paige “What are you doing?” Waking and saying “Yippee!” would have been more believable.
The resulting escapades are adequately shot, decently erotic and more importantly they are believable. I truly believed that Paige was having a good time. She inhabits the role of temptress with authority and manages to look good with a cock in her m her mouth. Mentioning the man is not really important because the man’s role is largely forgettable here. His lack of importance helps backs this stories intently male focus.
Like Jaelyn’s story Paige’s is male geared and succeeds on this respect. I felt in the beginning that Paige was going to take the viewer on quite an erotic ride, but I feel the film’s goal of seeming just good enough kept this from happening. As the story unfolded it deteriorated from a vixen determined to get the sexual best out of her “victim” into pretty average porn that would fit right in at a bachelor party.
Carmella Diamond’s segment dispenses with the need for plot or illusion of purpose beyond an ass and tittie fest. We meet Carmella as she sits on a red settee, wearing preppie mini and matching top. Her long brown hair is curled into effortless waves. This story is set up in interview format where we learn some background on Carmella from questions asked off screen by a male interviewer, Mark Wood. Shortly after opening Carmella honors the interviewers request and begin playing with her pussy while answering his questions. With a few minutes of the opening Carmella begins giving head to what we assume is the interviewer. His face is hidden which moves the “imagine this is you man” fantasy along.
Carmella executes the head with dexterity and a nice sense of erotic tenderness, while still keeping the hotness level high. As the oral continues Carmella begins fingering herself. This, like the faceless blowee, was just for the guys. I did not believe she was getting off on giving the head and would therefore not be into the act enough to feel the need to pleasure herself. Perhaps she just got bored. Carmella continues her dexterous blowjob and takes her top off.
We briefly get a glimpse of the man’s face as the pair gets ready to screw, but not enough to comment on whether or not he is hot. The sex itself is shot, in keeping with the rest of the movie, to appeal to a male audience. We see them, woman on top, shot from the back, mini hiked up around her waist, glancing over her shoulder to the audience. The room in question resembles a nice hotel. It is well shot if lacking in sexual imagination at times.
Carmella is lovely and the sex scenes feature a lot of tip action, with little interruption form dialog, and what there is can be easily blocked out. When the couple moves to man on top, or in this case standing, I felt more pleasure from Carmella. Her lip biting and eye rolling from earlier scenes seemed gave way to a more visceral groan that seemed less overacted
Carmella briefly receives some oral of her own, and even that seems male audience geared in that it seems shot for men to see a woman getting eaten out, and not too see a woman really reveling in her own pleasure. They then move into reverse cowgirl seated on the same red sofa. If you want to imagine Carmella is fucking you then this portion should help you accomplish this nicely. Her movements, camera angles, eye focus, all facilitate the viewer’s, ideally a male viewer, ability to place themselves in the action.
A now revealed, and bleary eyed, male lead gets a little more head, given nice and deep and with accompanying moaning from Carmella. Our action gets more fast paced after this. There is decent intensity here but there is a very harsh jump in editing. One second we see the couple on the couch, and then we cut to a camera angle which is literally under his balls, looking up at Carmella. The only purpose of this camera angle is to show the depth of Carmella’s uterus. I did not care for it, and can safely tell you this actor wad unable to get both his cock and balls into Carmella, despite a valiant effort.
Asshole licking boggles me, so this turn in the story was beyond me, but if it is your thing then you know it is here. We end this erotic adventure with a creamed face. The story is most effective in the woman on top, shot from behind scenes. In these the viewer is spared Carmella’s lapses into doe eyes expressions and overcompensating lip bites.
At this stage in Just Over #18 I was mind numb and absolutely could not watch any more. There are two more stories, but how different can they be? What you will not get is adult film for grown ups. Eroticism and sexual equality cannot be found here, but for what it is, namely a film where “babes are hungry for an 18th birthday boner”, it succeeds.

Very thorough review. I would just say, though, what did you expect from Red Light District? They are a hardcore gonzo company that knows exactly who they are making their movies for - men, young men to be exact (who, after all, are the overwhelming porn consuming demographic). Essentially every other hardcore gonzo company follows that some blueprint. And they make those type of movies very, very effectively (I got off on RLD's Cumfart Cocktails 6 just a few minutes ago, as a matter of fact, if that's not too much information for you). So don't expect "sex positive" releases from RLD. I think you might better like the more sophisticated couples fare of Vivid, Wicked, Digital Playground, Andrew Blake, Club Jenna, Tera Vision, etc. or, if your sexual tastes run rougher, Belladonna's stuff for Evil Angel. It's very, very hard-edge, but fetishy and directed obviously by a woman.
