Hospital
Hospital synopsis: Dark. Squalid. Ominous. Young Lucy awakes to the surroundings of a derelict hospital. Struck with amnesia, Lucy is the victim of her own unruly flashbacks - exposing her hedonist and malicious past. As the pieces reconnect, she finds that the hospital staff has come to reap vengeance on this not-so-innocent girl and with a little 'experimental' brain surgery, seek to purge Lucy of her demons.
Benny Profane's directorial debut for the Vivid-Alt label, Hospital, staring Mandy Morbid, was released on August 23. Previous works of Profanes include his self-produced Psychocandy series, Barbed Wire Kiss for VCA and Bullets and Burlesque for Adam and Eve but this is the first time that a studio has let him have total creative control. Profane was also thrilled because he got to use nurse and medical fetish themes, a favorite of his.
Benny posted on the Adult DVD Talk Forum: “I was informed by Vivid that I wasn’t allowed to use red crosses on the nurse’s uniforms because it was a potential copyright issue with the American Red Cross organization. I didn’t want to use those shitty costume store nurse uniforms anyway, but I did want the nurses to show a lot of leg and ass, so I put them in really short white cheongsam dresses and nurse hats.
“As far as using actual hospital scrubs, they are kind of shapeless and asexual... I lament the day that the modern, utilitarian nurse uniform replaced the starched white dresses I remember from my childhood. I had 2 very pretty young aunts when I was a little kid who were nurses in the 1970's, that's my first memory of those uniforms. Followed immediately by Jenny Agutter in American Werewolf In London, and all of the sexy nurses on Benny Hill, which, juxtaposed with the pleasantness of sitting on my aunts' laps, left me feeling extremely confused and guilty.
“I put the patient in my movie in a green hospital scrub top, simply because it was shorter than the hospital smock I had originally intended to use.”
In Hospital Mandy Morbid plays Lucy, a homeless punk nymphet who wakes with amnesia in a surreal and squalid hospital where doctors want to modify her behavior with brain surgery. The movie unfolds in a series of flashbacks of her past. The movie marks another first, Mandy’s first boy/girl scene outside of her website, MandyMorbid.com. In fact, she has two boy/girl scenes in the movie and one boy/girl/girl scene. Other stars of the movie are Zak Sabbath, Kimberly Kane, Caroline Pierce and Marie McCray.
