Fallen

After watching Fallen the only word that came to mind was "wow".  I always speak highly of Brad Armstrong's movies but this time words fail me.  He has out done himself and I have no idea how he is going to top this movie.  I understand why it was nominated for 16 AVN awards and it probably would have won every one of them if it wasn't for Pirates II.

Pirates II is visually stunning and stars some of the biggest names in adult entertainment.  It is also one of those movies that is needed to help bridge the gap between Hollywood and adult entertainment but in so many ways it wasn't the story that Fallen was nor was it meant to be.  To be fair, Pirates II was great in it's own right and to compare it to Fallen is like comparing apples to bananas.

Regret.  Fate.  Soul searching.  True love.  Redemption.  All five are major themes in Fallen.  To be honest, writing this review was difficult because I didn't want to give away to much of the movie. There is no way a review and summary can do it justice.  It just has to be experienced.

Jessica Drake plays an angel stripped of her wings and sent to live among the mortals after the young woman she was to protect, Jenna Haze, dies in a freak elevator crash leaving her boyfriends apartment.

Sex becomes her drug to numb the loss of what her life was.  It's better than being alone.  She finds strangers in sex clubs.

There is a cop (Randy Spears) that she entertains on occasion because it never hurts to have a friend or two who is a cop.  This scene may just give real life cops an idea or two what else they can do with their nightstick.

Then she meets Keith (Brad Armstrong) and things change.  She knew when they met it was fate and she is sure she knows him from somewhere.  To kill the time before their date, instead of having sex she watches others, Jennifer Dark, Marcus London and Tommy Gunn.  Jennifer Dark cracks me up, she says some of the craziest stuff during sex that just make you scratch your head and wonder what the hell she is talking about.  This time around, the Jennifer Dark WTF line is "Open it like a fucking car wash."  Yea...okay.  I am pretty sure Tommy and Marcus had no idea what she was talking about either.

Their date starts in a jazz club and ends in Brads bed.  Finally she realizes where she knows him from and leaves turning again to strangers for sex in order to cope.

She knows a cap driver who will let her ride on the roof of his car, the closest she can come to flying, in exchange for sex.

She also has a club that she visits when she wants to spend time with a woman for a change of scenery.

A series of events leads her back to Brad.  He has a surprise for her and is taking her for a weekend camping and biking trip.  In the car she drifts off and we have a flashback dream sequence as her as an angel with Shyla Styles and Niko.  Even angels engage in sex.

That surprise is an airplane ride where he teaches her to fly.  The day ends as you would expect.

A small string of interesting and tragic events ends the movie in a bittersweet happily ever after.

Once again, wow.

Jessica Drake won the AVN for best actress for Fallen and it's easy to see why while watching it.  It's also easy to see why Brad Armstrong was named Director of the Year.  I highly recommend this film to any fan of adult entertainment.  In fact, I would almost go as far as to recommend this film to just about everyone.  The sex was just as incredible as the story.
